Cleveland Institute of Music – Hazel Drive Apartments Project

The purpose of this project is to create a new, state-of-the-art student housing complex, steps from Cleveland Institute of Music’s main building in University Circle. The site is scheduled to open in Summer 2020. The scope consists of building a new, five floors residential building, with one story of mixed-use and four stories of apartments. The facility includes 22 acoustically isolated practice rooms on the main floor, residence space for first- and second- year CIM undergraduates on two floors and rental units targeted toward upper class students and graduate students from within the University Circle neighborhood. Amenities include deluxe, fully furnished units, including in-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi, laundry and kitchens. An acoustical-minded construction approach reduces sound transfer between suites. Secure controlled access, exercise studios, spacious relaxing lounges and individually controlled heating and cooling are also offered within this residential space.

Construction Support Solutions was retained as Owner’s Representative to oversee the progress of construction for compliance with the Contract Documents. CSS attends weekly meetings with the project team and conducts weekly field observations. Each week, CSS prepares a detailed field observation with comments and photographs.
