Kent State University, The Center for Architectural and Environmental Design

Construction Support Solutions was retained as Owner’s Representative/Executive Level Construction Manager with the Ruhlin Company to manage the pre-construction, construction and close-out phases of The Center for Architectural and Environmental Design. CSS provided assistance with coordination, on-site oversight, financial reporting, scheduling, diversity outreach, and relocation services.

The Center for Architectural and Environmental Design is one component of the $180 million Foundations of Excellence Program. Called the “Design Loft,” this four-story, 107,000-square-foot building will encompass open studio spaces, a flat-floor auditorium, rooms for critiques of student work, a library, and workshops filled with high-tech gear. It will also consolidate the department’s instructional spaces, now scattered among three buildings across 71,000 square feet of space on the Kent State University (KSU) campus. This project is expected to receive LEED Silver Certification.
