The scope of this project consists of the construction of a new 54,000 square-foot building in the West Area of the Glenn campus, tentatively named the Aerospace Communications Facility (ACF). The building consists of approximately twenty five (25) research and development laboratories, specialized in design and construction for communication technologies. The building and grounds include laboratory spaces, a large shielded high-bay space, and both rooftop and ground-based antennae fields. The project includes installation of a geothermal borehole field, new asphalt parking areas, exterior site work and landscaping, and the extension of underground utilities, as required. The building is designed to achieve a minimum LEED Silver rating and to comply with current Life Safety and ADA requirements.
