NASA GLENN RESEARCH CENTER – AEROSPACE COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY

The scope of this project consists of the construction of a new 54,000 square-foot building in the West Area of  the  Glenn  campus,  tentatively  named  the  Aerospace  Communications  Facility  (ACF).    The  building consists  of  approximately  twenty  five  (25)  research  and  development  laboratories,  specialized  in  design  and  construction  for  communication  technologies.    The  building  and  grounds  include  laboratory  spaces,  a  large  shielded high-bay  space,  and  both  rooftop  and  ground-based antennae fields. The project includes installation of a geothermal borehole field, new asphalt parking areas, exterior site work and landscaping, and the extension of underground utilities,  as  required.    The  building  is  designed  to  achieve  a  minimum  LEED  Silver  rating  and  to  comply with current Life Safety and ADA requirements.
