Kent State University Crawford Hall College of Business and Entrepreneurship

Scope:

The new College of Business Administration Building will be a 150,000 square foot, state-of-the-art building to support innovative instruction and research in the College of Business Administration.  The new building will be located between Main Street and Terrace Drive on the current site of Terrace Hall and will serve as the catalyst for the complete transformation of this area of campus.  While the design of the new building is nearly complete, the CMR will be on-boarded and begin to assist the design team with scope revisions to better align with the project budget.

The pandemic forced a reconsideration of what higher education space should look like, prompting a review of the current design and construction documents that were completed in February 2020. Some design modifications were made to eliminate a tiered lecture hall and increase technology to provide synchronous, asynchronous, and blended online instruction, as well as additional flexible space for a variety of in-person instructional layouts.
