Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction AOCI Pavement / Loading Dock at Allen Correctional Institution

SCOPE

The comprehensive renovation project at the Allen and Oakwood Correctional Institution (AOCI) in Lima, Ohio, involved housing approximately 1,500 inmates. AOCI required extensive design and construction administration services for the planned renovations. The project scope included the replacement of road sub-base and pavement at various locations, such as Allen and Oakwood perimeter roads, Oakwood main drive, Allen/Oakwood connector road, Allen interior roads, and various parking areas. Additionally, the project encompassed the correction of minor drainage problems and concrete repair/replacement, including associated repairs of the loading dock and surrounding area at the Allen E-building. Ancillary work was also uncovered during site and building investigations, involving general construction items and scopes like concrete, excavation, painting, finishes, electrical, and site drainage work.

Their scope of services encompassed detailed cost analysis for various components of the project, including the replacement of road sub-base and pavement, correction of drainage issues, concrete repair/replacement, and associated repairs of the loading dock and surrounding area at the Allen E-building. CSS’s involvement in the estimation process contributed to informed decision-making, alignment with available project funds, and adherence to the established construction schedule.
